If you come across a peacock or the super rare Phoenix, try and get a feather from either. Combine that with a book and you’ll get the Encyclopedia of Birds. With it you can left-click on any bird you find and it will document it in the book. It’s a fun way to learn about all the different bird species and also gives you a challenge to fill the entire book!

Animal Mod-Crocoduck Mod

Crocoducks is a curious combination of chickens and crocodiles. They are an inherently vicious creature prone to attacking anything and everything except for chickens. Ocelots, however, will actually attack Crocoducks so you can use them as a tactic for obtaining their eggs.
You can breed a crocoduckling by getting two adults together and feeding them raw meat. A duckling will hatch and you can use raw meat again to tame it. It will then follow you around forever.
The duckling will take a day or so to grow into adulthood and then it will start attacking anything in its path, except for you. This is great to have when it comes to enemy mobs, but also be aware that it will attack your other tamed animals so be sure to keep the two separated. You can even use leads to guide your duck away when need be.

Animal Mod-Hungry Animal Mod

The Hungry Animals mod gives animals in Minecraft a more realistic tone. They are naturally more afraid of you and other people so taming must be practiced carefully or by use of traps. You’ll see a meter when you hover your pointer over an animal and that explains the health, hunger, and tamability of them. They will also feed and reproduce on their own.

Animals now have the capability to survive on their own. They will find their own food or risk possibly starving. They will also find a mate naturally and nature just finds a way. Everything maintains balance with or without your interaction.

You can also use new tools to help you tame animals. The trap, bola, and slingshot can all be used to stun or trap animals and you can then walk up to them without them running away.

The bottom meter is the one to pay attention to when taming these animals. It will range from red to green, red being wild and green being tamed. The traps aren’t meant to harm the animals but are meant to be a means to get close to them without them running away. Once you spend enough time around these animals, you’ll then be able to tame them.
